Yes, indeed.  BIZCOVERY can be used by all types and sizes of businesses, and also by corporations where each entity could have their own licence.

The BIZCOVERY Framework is build around the well-known Emergency Management Cycle, which consist of four recurring interrelated phases: Mitigation, Preparedness, Response, and Recovery.

  • THE MITIGATION PHASE – is focussed on identifying credible incident scenarios as they apply to your business, and how those scenarios could impact on your business operations.
  • THE PREPAREDNESS PHASE – is where you identify Critical Business Information, Emergency Contacts and prepare a Contingency Location Map, and create your Action Cards.  All this information will be pushed to the mobile app.
  • THE RESPONSE PHASE –  is not about getting back to normal.  It is about retaining some level of business operations in the immediate aftermath of an incident.  This is here where your Action Cards come into play.
  • THE RECOVERY PHASE – is about getting your business back to normal, however, BIZCOVERY is not designed for this phase.  Here you could take advantage of a well prepared Business Continuity and Recovery Plan.

To make the process of creating Action Cards more easy for you, we have divided your Critical Business Activities into five categories: PEOPLE, PREMISES, PROCESSES, PROVIDERS, AND PROFILE.

Each of these five categories contain a number of pre-set scenarios, also called Business Critical Functions.  it is from here you create specific Action Cards as they apply to your business.

We acknowledge and encourage the use of ISO standards and BCI’s ‘Good Practice Guidelines’, and could in fact draw many parallels from BIZCOVERY and to those.

However, where a Business Continuity Plan may take some time to implement, the BIZCOVERY helps businesses and organisations to come into immediate actions at the onset of a disaster, business interruption, or crisis event.

From that point of view the BIZCOVERY compliments the Business Continuity Plan, and can also be used as a stand-alone measure for those who have not – or do not have any desire of using ISO standards or the BCI’s guidelines.

When signing up for a BIZCOVERY subscription you will receive two emails, one with your purchase receipt and one with your subscriber confirmation.

Your subscriber confirmation email will contain your UserName (which is not your email address), your Password, and a link to the login page.

Our Mobile App is available for free download at the App Store and Google Play, just search for ‘BIZCOVERY’.

To access your Critical Business Information, your Emergency Contacts, and your Action Cards – just login to the mobile app with the same credentials as for your BIZCOVERY account.

Yes.  If you are on the ‘Small Business’ subscription you can upgrade to either ‘Business Plus’ giving you 2 extra users, or you can upgrade to ‘Business Pro’ which gives you 4 extra users.

‘Business Plus’ subscribers will get 2 extra users when upgrading to ‘Business Pro’, however, they will also benefit from priority support, use of the Pre-Disaster Checklist, and a 45 minutes webinar followed by a Q&A session.

Customers on the ‘Business Pro’ subscription can currently not upgrade to more users within the system.  However, if you are on the ‘Business Pro’ subscription and need more users, then contact us by email: admin@canutemedia.com

The facility of upgrading or downgrading is an integrated feature on your Account Page.

Simply just click on the membership level that you want to change to and the e-commerce system will do the rest for you.

Short Answer:  As few as possible.

Long Answer:  Although BIZCOVERY comes with 30+ Risk Scenarios, it is unlikely that any business operation would require using all of them.  The number of Action Cards should not be reflected by the size of the business, but by the complexity of your business operation.

A small business could have quite complex operations and would likely need a larger number of Action Cards, where for example a medium sized business providing online services would require fewer Action Cards.

It does though also come back to how confident and experienced the business owner and manager is with managing crisis events.

Yes.  Although each Action Card comes with a number of pre-defined actions for you to select, you are also given the option of creating your own.

We strongly recommend not to add more than 4 Urgent Actions and 4 Routine Actions to a single Action Card, as you would likely not be able to carry more out in the heat of an emergency situation.

Yes, the option of adding own Action Cards comes with the ‘Business Pro’ and ‘Business Plus’ subscriptions.

The Contingency Location Map is available to ‘Business Pro’ and ‘Business Plus’ subscribers.

To add Location Maps:

  1. Click on the menu link ‘Business’.
  2. Click on the button ‘Location Maps’.
  3. Give your map a name, e.g. ‘My Contingency Location’.
  4. Insert the address of your contingency location in the address field.
  5. Click the ‘submit’ button.

The Pre-Disaster Checklist is only available with the ‘Business Pro’ subscription.

It works like a memo pad, where you set a start date and an end date, and write up what needs to be done prior to your Action Cards becoming ‘operational’.
